BUA Developmental Youth Summer League
July 10th -- September 25th
The vision of BUA is to give back to the community, provide youth with advanced training and elevate the level of competition in Bakersfield. The BUA Developmental League gives youth the opportunity to learn the game of basketball and apply that knowledge in a game setting.
Location: the P.E. facility (old gym) at CSUB.
- Boys and Girls
- 5th/6th grade, Junior High, Junior Varsity, Varsity
- 10 players max on each team
- Players will be placed by age, skill level and position
Registration Fee’s:
Each registration fee covers a uniform set, a total of 12 games, and two training days a week. Uniforms will not be given until the first registration fee is received. Each registration will also include two BUA discount cards ($20), which are included in the first months fee, that will be put towards league T-shirts, uniforms, gym rental, etc... all of which will be for the participant and theirs to keep. Participants will have the option of keeping the two cards for personal use or selling them to reimburse your money. Payment plans are also available on an individual basis using our discount cards as well. Please contact league directors for more information. All registration fee’s for the first month of league participation must be in by July 8th which is the first official training day of the league.
Developmental League: $220
- 12 games in 12 weeks

- Placement on a team with an assigned coach
Advanced Training Only: $180/month
- training covers two sessions/week
- 1 hour minimum per session
Developmental League with Advanced Training: $320($100/month)
- training covers the duration of the league
- One training session/week along with one game/week
- Player evaluations in league play (Jr. High division through high school division only)
- Financial payment arrangements available if needed
Divisions
5th and 6th Grade Division:
This is the entry level to basketball and will concentrate on the basics of skill development.
Junior High Division:
The Jr. High School division is looked at as preparation for the next level, which is high school. Each player should look to gather the understanding, experience and skills that are needed to play on the next level.
Junior Varsity Division:
The Junior Varsity Division will be looked at as an introduction to the High School level of basketball. At this age every athlete is at a different skill level and the concentration is on increasing that skill level.
Varsity Division: (Fall/Spring)
The Varsity High School division will be looked at as the elite of all the divisions in the league.
AAU Division: (Summer) 15 and under & 17 and under age groups available.
